Carrot Idli




It is made with boiled rice and Urad dhal.I make it for my little one very often as i grind it in the food processor.

Ingredients:
Boiled Rice - 1 cup
Urad Dhal- 1/2 cup

Method:
Soak them separately for 6- 8 hours or overnight. Then Grind them seperately in your food processor. While grinding add little water, the urad dhal has to be fluffy. The test is when it is held in your fingers, it should fall easily into the vessel. Then mix both the rice and urad dhal with little salt. Keep it outside if the temperature is hot outside otherwise keep it in the oven by switching the light on. It will ferment in 6-8 hours. Once it is fermented keep it in the fridge. Then before making idli, take the batter from the fridge and keep it outside for atleast 10-15 minutes. Take the idli plate and grease it with the gingely oil put the batter on the plate. For my little one, i grate some carrots on top of the idli and steam it in presurre cooker for 6-7 minutes. Don't put the whistle.The hot idli will be ready and you can take the idli out of the plate after 3-4 minutes, so it will easily come out the plate. I feed my son with ghee on the side.Hope your little one enjoy this recipe.
